Team Jason

Jason McMillan

Jason leads Compass South’s Land Sales division and works closely with investors to create optimal disposition strategies. His forestry and real estate careers began at American Forest Management. After nine years, he accepted a position as the Sales and Timberland Management Director for Copper Station Holdings. In 2008, he joined forces with Travis Avant and Tony Watry to establish Compass South, Inc. Jason received his Forestry Degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA.

Team Jared

Jared Walker

Jared leads Compass South’s Transaction Analysis and Support Division. He initially joined Compass South as a summer intern in 2008, then earned a full-time position the following year. Jared received his Business Administration Degree from The Citadel.

Tony Watry

Tony leads Compass South’s Investment Consultancy division and assists investors in acquiring and managing properties. His forestry and real estate career began at American Forest Management, where he was a partner. After sixteen years, he accepted a position as Acquisitions Director for Copper Station Holdings. In 2008, he joined forces with Travis Avant and Jason McMillan to establish Compass South, Inc. Tony received his Forest Management Degree from Clemson University. He is a Registered Forester, Real Estate Broker, and member of the Society of American Foresters.

Bradley Bennett

Bradley is a Georgia native whose love for western hunting led him to Spokane Valley, WA, where he currently resides. He gained extensive recreational property management experience while overseeing large private properties in multiple states (SC, GA, AL and MS) where wildlife, fisheries, forestry and farm management were the primary focus. Bradley received his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and a Master’s Degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia.

Michael Biggerstaff

Michael Biggerstaff

Michael serves as the Southeast Regional Program Manager for Compass South Forestry. In addition, he works with land sales clients in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Since 2014, he has worked in the natural resources management profession in multiple capacities. Michael has planned and administered forest management practices across the southeast, from the pine savannas and swampland of southern Florida to the impressive hardwoods of the Southern Appalachians. Michael earned his master’s degree from the University of Georgia.

Team Chastain

Don Chastain

Don brought 25 years of experience to Compass South Land Sales. To date, he has achieved over $80 million in career sales. His professional background includes timber and real estate consulting, managing wood-flow through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Program, working for a vertically integrated forest products company, and serving as a Timberland Investment Manager. Don is actively involved the Society of American Foresters and various state forestry associations.

Wes Davis

Wes is a native of Matthews, NC, who currently resides in Amelia Island, FL. Prior to joining the Compass South Land Sales team, he had a successful 19-year career in various forestry and real estate roles, and achieved over $145 million in career sales ranging from Texas to North Carolina. Wes received his Forest Management degree from NC State.

Connor Guess

Connor is a native of Denmark, SC, and currently resides in McClellanville. Prior to joining Compass South Land Sales, he worked for National Land Realty, where he focused on land sales throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry. His other professional experience includes working as a Loan Officer for AgSouth Farm Credit, ACA. Connor received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Clemson University in 2015. He is a QDMA Deer Steward Level I and is actively involved in the National Wild Turkey Federation, Quality Deer Management Association, and Ducks Unlimited.

Dalton Harriett

Dalton is a South Carolina Lowcountry native who currently resides in Spokane, WA. He was raised in a military family, which allowed him to experience life in multiple states, countries, and cultures. As a result, Dalton learned valuable lessons in a short amount of time, most of which centered around personal relationships, discipline, hard work, professionalism, and communication. He is excited to join the Compass South team and is highly motivated to learn as much as possible while serving clients in both the Washington and Montana real estate markets.

John Hickman

John is a South Carolina native who grew up in the Charleston area, but currently resides in Polson, Montana. He has extensive experience in wildlife and property management, including working for private plantations and DNR agencies. John has been successfully involved in many real estate activities, but has primarily focused on rural property for investment and recreational purposes. He is actively licensed in nine states and manages the Montana office, where he enjoys the recreational opportunities of the Pacific Northwest. John earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Resources and a Master’s degree in Wildlife Management and Ecology, both from the University of Georgia.

Karen Kinsey

Karen is a native of Sumter, SC, who implements savvy research techniques to provide clients with the most current information on properties throughout the South. Prior to joining the Compass South Land Sales team in 2015, she worked with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Karen holds a real estate licenses in both South Carolina and Georgia.

Land Sales Team Sandy

Sandy McLendon

Sandy is based in Perry, Georgia, and primarily serves clients in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. His professional experience includes real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and development. Prior to joining Compass South Land Sales, Sandy worked for Savannah River Logging, Union Camp and Weyerhaeuser. Sandy is a registered forester who received his Forest Resource Management Degree from the University of Georgia.

Connor McMillan

Connor is a South Carolina native who is currently based in his hometown of Walterboro, and serves clients in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Growing up in the timber and land sales industries, combined with Connor's love for the outdoors and activities like hunting and fishing, ignited a deep-rooted connection to the natural environment. In 2017, he joined Compass South as a summer intern, kick-starting his career journey. Connor received his Forest Resource Management Degree with a minor in Business Management from Clemson University.

Real Estate Agent Tennessee

Jordan Nanney

Jordan is a North Carolina native who now lives just outside Clarksville, Tennesee, and serves as the Director of Field Operations for Compass South Forestry. He joined the Compass South Land Sales team in 2022 after a decade of working in public and private sector wildlife and forestry positions across the Southeast. He is a Certified Wildlife Biologist®, Certified Forester®, and Registered Forester who specializes in helping land managers and timberland investors evaluate, purchase, manage, and sell properties in Tennessee. Jordan holds an A.A.S in Wildlife Management Technology from Haywood Community College, a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from North Carolina State University, and a M.S. in Wildlife Science from the University of Tennessee.

Derick Reynolds

Derick is a native of Southeast Arkansas where he serves as a real estate broker and licensed professional surveyor. With a background in land surveying and hands-on experience in timber harvest and procurement operations, he has gained invaluable insights into timberland investing. He understands the importance of sustainable forestry and the delicate balance between economic development and environmental preservation. Derick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Spatial Information Systems with a specialization in Land Surveying from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Joe Sangimino

Joe Sangimino

Residing in Flathead Valley, Joe is a land specialist with 8+ years of real estate experience, including personal investments in land, multi-family, and residential properties. A former civil and environmental engineer, he holds the ALC designation, QDMA Deer Steward certification, and a commercial drone pilot’s license. Joe specializes in country homes, recreational land, and farmland, with expertise in 1031 exchanges, subdivisions, and creative deal-making. An avid outdoorsman and former farm manager, he brings passion, financial insight, and local knowledge to every transaction.

Rob Skinner

Rob is a native of Jefferson County, Georgia, and resides in his hometown of Avera. His professional background includes forestry resource management, along with utility right of way maintenance management. He primarily focuses on rural land transactions in Georgia and South Carolina. Rob a registered forester and an I.S.A. Certified Arborist who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Georgia.

Charlie Wade

Charlie is based in Eugene, Oregon. His nearly 50-year career in natural resource management included experience in the timberland and watershed management fields. For the last 25 years, Charlie focused on timberland dispositions. Prior to coming to Compass South, he served as a land sales advisor to a major institutional timberland owner. Charlie holds bachelors and masters degrees in Forest Management from Virginia Tech.

Mark Watson

Mark is a registered professional land surveyor and licensed realtor who is based in Texas. His professional experience includes assisting clients with government permitting processes, right-of-ways, and facilities planning. Mark serves as CEO for Cross Texas Land Services.

Land Sales Team Sally

Sally Walker

Sally is a licensed realtor who serves as Office Manager for Compass South, Inc. Prior to joining our team, she worked with Jason and Tony at Copper Station Holdings. Sally received her Environmental Science Degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH.

Aubrey Hill

Aubrey is a native of Colleton County, South Carolina, with more than 10 years of office management experience. She seeks to expand her knowledge in land sales and obtain her real estate license for the state of South Carolina.

Lauren McCollum

Lauren is a native of Danville, Virginia. She has resided in the Low-Country for 10 years. Prior to joining Compass South Appraisals, Lauren served as a clinical supervisor and administrative patient coordinator for an oral surgery practice.
